We are pleased to invite all General Counsel, Secretary Generals, Chief Legal Officers, Heads of Legal, and other ultimately responsible (in-house) lawyers in Belgium to the first GCB Annual Conference.

The GCB Annual Conference:

• will take place on Friday, 28 November 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM 
• at the beautiful Salons De Romree in Grimbergen, just north of Brussels.
• the theme of the day is:  “Corporate Governance: The Role of the General Counsel.”

As General Counsel, you are likely already navigating the shift from legal advisor to strategic governance partner. Integrity, accountability, and foresight may have become central to your role, especially in a context shaped by AI, ESG, regulatory pressure, and geopolitical uncertainty.

This first GCB Annual Conference offers a focused platform for peer exchange and practical insight. You will:

• Meet many fellow Belgian GCs and CLOs;
• Reflect on the GCs role in embedding governance into business strategy;
• Discuss ethical leadership and emerging risks;
• Join two GCB Roundtables of your choice for in-depth dialogue.

The Conference will begin with an inspiring session by Cedric Dumont (Hight performance Psychology) and we will close the substantive programme with an interactive panel discussion featuring Bart De Smet (Chairman, Ageas and the Belgian Corporate Governance Committee) and Aminata Kaké (Secretary General, Belfius), moderated by Lies Martens.
