General Counsel Belgium (GCB) is the first and only professional community in Belgium exclusively for the most senior in-house legal leaders, including Secretary-Generals, Chief Legal Officers, Heads of Legal, and, of course, General Counsel. Our mission is to create a trusted environment where peers can connect, share experiences, and learn from each other about the unique challenges of being the ultimate legal decision-maker within private enterprises and non-governmental organizations.
The role of a General Counsel is unlike any other. You are not only a legal expert. You are a strategic advisor, a leader, and often more or less part of the C-Suite.
You manage complex relationships with boards and regulators, lead a legal team, define and implement your strategy within your department, and oversee risk and reputation management.
At the same time, you are expected to understand business dynamics and contribute to corporate decision-making. Yet, there is usually only one GC per organization. This makes it difficult to find true peers who understand your position. GCB fills that gap by offering a platform focused on managerial and strategic topics, not on legal technicalities.
